SanDisk Extreme 900 USB 3.1 Portable SSD Announced

SanDisk released a new line of USB 3.1 portable SSDs dubbed as Extreme 900. The units have massive storage sizes at 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB. The shockproof SSDs feature a durable aluminum housing and a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connection interface.

Obviously the unit is USB 2.0/3.0 backward compatible and come with SanDisk SecureAccess Software that provides 128-bit AES file encryption and password protection. Supporting Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and Mac OS 10.6 or later operating systems, the Extreme 900 USB 3.1 portable SSDs promise to deliver read/write speeds of up to 850/850 MB/s (480GB, 960GB & 1.92TB models).

The SanDisk Extreme 900 will begin shipping in April.

Prices are TBA.
