Samsung's rumored premium Galaxy S5 PRIME

According to BGR, new evidence of the device has appeared on a manifest posted by Indian import site, Zauba. The manifest lists a handset, SM-G906K that was shipped from South Korea earlier last week. This is similar to a model that was spotted on the GFXBench site nearly two weeks ago. Although the device has since been pulled from the GFXBench website.

It’s not clear when the Galaxy S5 Prime will be launched, and what commercial name it will have, but Samsung has been rumored for months to be working on a premium Galaxy S5 model that would have a high-resolution display and possibly a metal body.

While images showing the phone aren’t available yet, the earlier GFXBench sighting revealed the main hardware for the SM-G906S version of the handset. Specs include a 5.2-inch display with 2560 x 1440, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 16-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S5 is already selling well in many countries, according to existing reports, with Samsung expected to sell as many as 35 million units in the first three months.

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 running at 2.5Ghz
  • Qualcomm Adreno 420 GPU
  • 5.2" 2560 x 1440 display
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16 MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera
  • 32GB of storage

This would all be packaged in a metal housing, heavily deviating from the materials used in Samsung's current handsets. It is unclear when or if this handset will launch, but the above specifications are impressive compared to current flagship handsets that are available.

Now i wait for Dolphin to get stable and faster... Super Mario Galaxy on the go. What a time to be a gamer.

Whats great is that it also doubles as a communication device..

The US version will not have the 805. Our S5 still has the 800.
