Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 4 and Edge
After much speculation Samsung finally has announced their new Galaxy Note 4 Phablets. The Galaxy Note 4 features a better 5.7-inch display in a metal frame, quad high-definition display and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, the improvements are incremental. Samsung also showed a Note with a curved edge screen on one of the phone's sides.
Samsung has packed in a 5.7-inch, 2560×1440 AMOLED. nad that boils down to be 515 PPI. The device will launch with Android 4.4. Inside the Phablet you can spot a a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, up from a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 in the Note 3. The Note 4 has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The rear camera has been upgraded from 13MP to 16MP, the front camera has been upgraded from 2.1MP to 3.7MP. The microSD card slot can now take 64GB. The battery capacity is roughly the same at 3220 mAh.
The Note Edge uses a 5.6-inch AMOLED display, total resolution is 2560×1600.
The Note Edge's spec sheet is reportedly the same as the Note 4's, which means you're still getting a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 16MP camera, the S Pen, and an SD card slot, though it has a smaller 3000 mAh battery. Combine this slightly smaller battery with the slightly larger screen and it seems likely that the Galaxy Edge's battery life will fall a bit short of the Note 4's.
The Note Edge will be available "in select markets" at an unspecified date.

Looks really neat, but I like my Note 3 far too much to jump ship at this moment in time.
Perhaps when the Note 6 arrives, I may consider wavering a bit.

I feel pretty much the same. It's hardly an upgrade. The CPU seems to be a notch faster, but did you need extra CPU in Note 3? or more pixels? The only thing that appears to be a real upgrade is the improved camera with ois... and maybe a fingerprint scanner if you're into such stuff. The metal frame looks great, but so does plastic frame in Note 3. They also replaced USB 3.0 with 2.0. Also, I don't like the move to put the speaker on the rear side - the positioning on the bottom edge in Note 3 is superior, as it's not covered when the phone is on the desk facing screen up, and you can easily redirect the waves with your hand when watching videos.
Samsung effectively left a few features to make upgrades to Note 5/6 easier:
Waterproofing
USB 3.0/3.1
Front stereo speakers
Dedicated camera shutter button
Preventing Google services from keeping wake lock and draining battery like crazy

That edge screen looks interesting. Although, I bet it's constantly overshadowed by fingerprints of holding it with the left hand, and the fingertips reaching around that edge while holding the phablet.
