That's what I was thinking. I don't see why most monitor manufacturers stick to the same sized panels. TV sizes vary HUGELY with the same resolutions so I never understood why monitors didn't have a little play with the same thing...

Let say the resolution of the TV is essentially driven by the content ( Movies, tv channel ) available. then ofc, you will not stand at 20-30cm of a 50" panel..., then the electronics of a TV is different ..

The 32" is just a wide 16/9-30".. so it should not look too bad vs a 30" 16/10 2560x1600.

The thing i see the most interesting there is maybe the thin bezel thoses monitors have.. could be really good for a 3 monitors setup.

Except that tvs apply overscan, monitors do not, so using a tv as monitor will always cost you detail because either you miss a few pixel on all edges or you end up with non-native resolution like 18xx by 10xx because of the overscan.

For tvs people want screen estate, graphics and gaming call for more detail...

Im interest in 32 or even 30" with higher than FHD reso. But not samsung and not for +500$...

Qnix has recently come out with a 32" WQHD display as well. I think it uses the same panel as the Sammy.
