Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom has 10x optical zoom

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is now official. Meet the Frankenstein device, where a phone meets a camera. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom packs a 4.3-inch sAMOLED screen with qHD resolution (960 x 540), 1.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (different, depending on the market), a 16-megapixel maine camera on the back with x10 Optical Zoom (24-240mm, F3.1-F6.3), 1.9-Megapixel webcam camera.

Then it has 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card), 2,330mAh battery, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz on top of it.

Other specs include WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, as well as a 3G and LTE capable radio. The camera supports ISO modes of up to 3200, and the flash is Xenon Flash. Pricing and exact availability is yet unknown.

a whole new phone, just for 3mp higher resolution and an optical zoom?

im sure theres more to it than that, but seems a bit unnecessary to me, i'd rather sink my money into a pedigree camera and keep my Galaxy SII for a phone, than have a phone and a hybrid camera with a phone built into it

I like to keep my phone as a phone even though it has a "camera" and a real camera if I need to take important pictures and phone camera for mobile/on the go/oh my god everyone gots to see these pics. But having a camera built into an actual phone, not too sure about that, feels like your putting a real camera to your ear to make calls haha.. good if you're always on the go/traveling/.. maybe vblogging i guess.

Nokia 808 taking better pictures somehow demonstrates how bad this actually is. And this is the most horrible branding hoax I have seen for a while :)
