Samsung has a lot of announcements today, they introduce the ATIV Tab 3, a new Windows 8 tablet with a thickness of only 8.2mm and a weight of 550g. The device has a 10.1" screen with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and is powered by Intel's Atom Z2760 1.8GHz SoC.

Other features include 2GB LPDDR2 memory, 64GB eMMC storage, microSD memory card reader, micro-USB 2.0 port, micro-HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n WiFi, SIM card slot for 3G, and up to 10 hours of battery life thanks to the 25.6Wh battery. The slate, which carries the distinction of being “the world’s thinnest Windows 8 tablet,” is equipped with a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768-pixel display, an Intel ATOM Z2760 processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Tab 3 also supports the company’s S Pen stylus, which is built directly into the device.

The tablet feels fantastic in hand, although it features Samsung’s traditional plastic casing, and is very similar to the Android-powered Galaxy Tab. Samsung has bundled a keyboard stand and Office 2013 with the device. The company is also promising up to 10 hours of battery life. The ATIV Tab 3 will arrive in stores in early August for a pricy $699. In Europe the tablet will cost 629EUR.
