Interesting advisory, if you own one of the Qled TVs you need to regularly scan for malware manually to prevent attacks with malicious software. Users should do this every few weeks mentions the manufacturer.

At Twitter the support department of Samsung USA reports that with Qled TVs 'if they are connected via WiFi', just like computers, it is important to regularly scan for malware, reports Tweakers.net

In a short video, the electronics company explains how users should do that. Samsung TVs have certainly had such a scanning function since 2016 to detect malware, but Samsung, as far as we know, did not actively recommend manual scanning at intervals of a few weeks. Smart Security also protects against attacks in the background , Samsung announced in 2016. In recent years, it has regularly been reported in the news that TVs can in principle be infected, although it appears that large-scale malware attacks on TVs have not yet taken place. Samsung has been placing McAfee Security for TV on its TVs since the beginning of this year.
