Samsung has added a VA panel type 27inch C27F591FD monitor to the line-up, this one has a massive 400R curve (twice as much as previous models). The product comes with very thin bezels and a mixture of white and metallic-looking silver.

The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick (JOG button) at the rear of the monitor. The panel used is a 27” Samsung curved SVA (Vertical Alignment) with 1800R curvature, 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution and 3000:1 static contrast. It has a 60Hz refresh rate, but this is variable with Adaptive-Sync compatible and thus it will support AMD FreeSync for compatible GPUs, although the variable refresh rate range is currently unknown. Other aspects of the specification to note are a 4ms specified response time (not to be taken at face value) and a 250 cd/m² typical luminance.

The rear of the monitor is glossy and white, devoid of VESA holes (you’re stuck with the tilt-only stand) and featuring some rear-facing ports; DP 1.2, HDMI 1.4a (with Adaptive-Sync), a 3.5mm headphone jack and a further digital input plus 2 x 5W speakers. The full capabilities of the monitor (including FreeSync) can be used over HDMI only.  The monitor is available in the US for under $350, with availability in the EU expected in June.
