Samsung 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) Monitor
More news from Samsung, this time for the true enthusiast gamers. At CES Samsung will launch a new 27" 27-inch PLS (Plane Line Switching) panel capable of a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
The model is called S27A970 and comes with Samsungs new anti-glare edge-to-edge glass display, an aluminum stand and base, a response time of 5 ms, 178/178 degree viewing angles.
The screen has a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1 with a brightness of max 300 cd/m2. Two 7 Watt speakers have been built-in.
Connectivity wise you'll spot a 2-port USB 2.0 hub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, plus a Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) enabling connectivity with MHL-supporting smartphones and tablets.
The Series 9 S27A970 is expected to become available in March priced at a rather steep $1,200.
I think that glossyness is really going to ruin the LCD .... even at the product photo you can already notice that.
