The Callisto Protocol, developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton, did not meet expectations and as a result, Krafton has not yet regained the 150 million dollars invested in its production.

With the publication of The Callisto Protocol, the publisher anticipated that the game would sell 5 million copies by April of this year. However, the number of copies sold did not even surpass 2 million. Striking Distance Studios has published a number of patches over the past few weeks to address different issues that surfaced with the game's release. The first of these patches appeared barely one day after the game's release to address stuttering. A few days later, a second update was issued.

The development team behind The Callisto Protocol made significant efforts to address player concerns and issues, but it appears that this did not attract enough players. However, there is still hope for recovery, as we've seen with games like Cyberpunk 2077. Despite initial setbacks and poor reception upon release, the studio behind that title took the time to address player issues. It ultimately turned the game into a huge success after a period of two years.
