On facebook the designer behind the Phison E18 controller that is empowering this Rocket 4 Plus PCIe 4.0 SSD had a simple thought and target, he wanted a controller that would kick Samsungs ass.

And in that mindset the Rocket 4 Plus NVMe SSD has been announced, powered by the new Phison PS5018-E18 SSD controller the SSD series would deliver a massive 7,000 MB/s sequential read and 6850 MB/s sequential write speeds (!).  Of course these numbers only tell one side of the story.

These numbers are above the specs Samsung recently announced with the 980 PRO. The Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus will become available in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB models . These numbers mentioned are approaching the bandwidth limits of PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. Pricing and availability was not announced.
