Ryzen X470 and Intel Z390 motherboard names appear from ASRock

ASRock is the prepping next-gen Ryzen 2000 / Ryzen 2 capable X470 motherboards as a list of ASRock's pending motherboards have, the new motherboard will get AMD's X470 chipsets, on the Intel side new low-end H310, mainstream B350 and high-end Z390 chipsets will be introduced.

This list was spotted at Videocardz, who in the past has been accurate with the ASRock info, ASRock would be working on these three new AMD 400 chipset motherboards:

  • ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming K4
  • ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Professional Gaming
  • ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming-ITX/AC

ASRock would be working on Killer/Taichi and Pro models as well. AMD's X470 chipset would replace the existing X370 series, with the release of AMD's rumored 2000-series of Ryzen Refresh CPUs. It seems ASRock will keep the same naming scheme as in the X370 lineup.

On the Intel side of things, Intel is expected to release B360 and H310 chipsets in Q1, Z390 series boards for 8-core Coffee Lake finally seems to make an appearance. This would be the list of ASRock's leaked H310, B360, and Z390 motherboards series.

If the ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming K4 has the same features as the X370 variant, I may upgrade my motherboard.... Don't see a reason to upgrade processors though. The X370 variant has an M.2 slot for wifi cards. My MSI B350 Tomahawk is the most feature-lacking board I've bought in the last 10 years. They even chose one of the absolute worst integrated audio chipsets on the market....

Should, but at the same time, unless the ryzen refresh offers a lot more imporvements (which you shouldn't expect, Ryzen 2 is when that should happen) then there likely won't be a reason to upgrade processors from the r7 1700.

What do you expect from a mobo that costs less than £100? Next time get the x370/x470 board :)

When I bought the board, it was only intended to be a temporary component just to get me to Zen2..... However, since buying the board, I've rediscovered why I hate Realtek. Their integrated NICs are horrendous. Fortunately, I managed to locate my Broadcom NIC to install.
