Ryzen Threadripper 3000 Castle Peak and Dali APU Names Surface Once more
Two more slides have leaked at Spanish website Informatica Cero. Yesterdays slides already included the mention of Castle Peak, the Threadripper update planned for 2019, which would be named something like Threadripper 3000.
Yesterdays leaks mainly where about 'regular' Ryzen, the new slides at Informatica Cero name the Next-Gen High-end Desktop (NG HEDT) platform to be Castle Peak. The dies for Threadripper 3rd Gen “Castle Peak” would be based on Zen2, and that is the roadmap for 7nm fabricated processor dies.
To recap, you can expect updated Threadripper procs, likely this year already, based on the Zen+ update. This would be much like you will be seeing in the April Ryzen 2000 update. Let's call thee Ryzen Treadripper series 2000. Now, “Castle Peak” dies, however, will be based on the 3000 series, that would be the new and very promising 7nm fabbed dies, these potentially can hit 5 GHz (if we can believe the recent chatter from Global Foundries).
Also interesting to mention, a new name appeared in the latest two slides that we have not seen before, mobile APUs codenamed Dali, again named after the historical painter Salvador Dalí. These puppies would be segmented in a value segment of the mobile APU market. Source: Informatica Cero

Probably not until Zen 2. Not like it matters anyway - for the most part, PCIe 4.0 is pretty un-interesting with the exception of a few niche cards.
