Eight Core Ryzen Threadripper 1900X Spotted in India Etail
That third announced Ryzen Threadripper processor called the 1900X is spotted in an India (r)etail stores.The 1900X is the 8-cores part and will be the 'lowest' SKU available in the Threadripper series.
This is an 8-core processor with 16 threads, 3.8 GHz base frequency and 4.0 GHz boost. AMD listed the price at $549, obviously since it is on the X399 platform it benefits from quad channel memory as well as that lovely 64-pcie lanes. The colleagues from TPU spotted the proc listed at PC hardware store PrimeABGB carrying a price of INR 45,699which si close to $715 USD. They state that in India the retailer margins and taxes on PC hardware tend to be very high.
It will be interesting to see how well this processor stacks up against regular Ryzen 7 1800(X). Likely the advantage of quad-channel memory will be little, however the extra 64 PCI-Express lanes might make it interesting all by itself. The 1900X will be an unlocked processor and should indeed become available upcoming week at that $549 price level.

CORE I7 7700K 349.90euros = 418usd
The 7700K is not a bad chip but the software I use needs a lot of "real" cores. I'll continue the waiting game (I've been playing this game for many years).

It's not only in India the retailer margins and taxes on PC hardware tend to be very high.
Just check Portugal prices:
Threadripper 1950X -> 1.189,90euros = 1,420 usd
Threadripper 1920X -> 959,90euros = 1,145 usd
almost 50% on taxes and margins, U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!!
Add to that here in Portugal wages are really low, 530euros is what I earn .
Given the fact RAM prices are skyrocketing this puts an end for on my threadripper system.
Even a Ryzen 7 system is painfully expensive.
Sadly I like chess and checkers engines, I even created a strong checkers engine ( https://sites.google.com/view/deep-profound ), and this software uses many cores, but I guess it won't be soon I can get my hands on a Ryzen 7 system.
