Ryzen 7000X3D with 100 MB of cache already planned for this year

Ryzen 7000X3D with 100 MB of cache already planned for this year

AMD aspires to be the leader in gaming performance. This CPU would be released shortly after the Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 7 7800X, Ryzen 9 7900X, and 7950X.

AMD's Ryzen 7000 processor with 3D V-Cache technology is rumored to become available around the end of 2022. This year, a few months after the main range of Ryzen 7000 processors with Zen 4 was released. According to Greymon55, one of The Red Team's facilities has already begun mass production of the Ryzen 7000X3D, codenamed Raphael-X. AMD tested the power of 3D V-Cache technology with Zen 3, thus Raphael-X will almost definitely include many models, including the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D.

A 6-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D with a lower cache, most likely around 64MB, could also be in the works. AMD appears to have a wide range of processors  planned for the coming years alright. Due to efficiency (5nm + architectural optimizations), gaming performance (10% IPC, faster clocks, V-Cache), and content production performance, AMD may be able to reclaim market dominance.

AMD officially said it will be this year. I tend to believe it as it is the counter to Intel and timing wise its perfect for that.

Maybe if its literally only on one SKU like 5800X was. Otherwise why would anyone buy Zen4 without it? They aren't going to release Zen4 then 1 month later release Zen4 with v cache almost everyone would just wait.

Zen4 will be out before Raptor Lake, they wont need to counter. Meteor Lake is ages away, v cache would make a nice update March/April time next year if its across the whole product stack.

If they do launch it along with Zen4 I'd expect a sizeable price premium, like £100 more than its v cache less counter part

Ye, see i'm casual and don't do competitive gaming.

Sim racing and competitive gaming are totally different things. Offline sim racing is a huge thing.

@Agonist

you will have 10 times higher (neg) impact on latencies from internet/server than anything.
newer tech doesn't really need high fps anymore, if gpu capabilities are properly implemented .
e.g. i can reach below 7ms/3ms rendering latency in Siege, all on 60hz, while my friends 144hz doesn't do anything better regarding lag.

@schmidtbag
nope .
as amd stated, its for gaming "only", and 8 cores and up are usually what content ppl buy, so i don't see it making any sense for them to implement fps gaining stuff on (not commonly used) non gaming cpus like 7900 and 7950.
if they wanted that, there would be 5900/5950 with V cache

ROFL, you have 0 clue. Just stop.
Sims don't rely on server for physics update to update client movent. But hey tell me that I don't feel a better response on input with higher refresh rate to what i am visually seeing on screen, hearing and feeling in the wheel as well.

Everything is totally different in FPS and esports games vs sim racing and things are done. We really even more on input lag reduction then FPS people do.

People will by Ryzen 7000 even if 3D cache versions are coming. The 3D cache version will likely be $100 more than the non 3D part.

AMD are launching Zen4 early in September so we are talking 3-4 months later for the 3D cache parts.

Raptor Lake should land around November which might be very competitive or even better than Zen4 in single threaded or low threaded workloads. So yes AMD will want to counter that with the 3D cache version very shortly after.
