Rumor/Leak 8350k is very close to 7700k in multi-threaded performance
A new leak surfaced onto the web, CPU-Z screenshots of the Core i3 8350K. That 8350K would be the four cores four threaded SKU.
The leaked screenshots shows the 8350k against the 6700k and 7700k in the CPU-Z bench. It shows a lead in single threads but (as our forum aficionado loophole35 described) nipping at the heals in multi as well. Now it is important to note the CPU in question seems to have a slight overclock (BLK is set to 103 netting a 4.113Ghz clock speed) As always with these things keep your salt handy.
Interesting is that is has an unlocked multiplier and sports 1GB of L2 cache (256KB per core) and 8MB of L3 cache, all at a 65W TDP. The CPU-Z results show the Core i3 part at 503.3 points in single-threaded performance, and a more impressive 1,982 points in multi-threaded performance. With four real cores in the I3 range, this might be a terrific overclocker for the money.

So, er, is Intel planning to dump its i7's in favor of i3's...? Somehow, that doesn't seem at all likely.

The

The leaked 8700k CPU-Z shots I've seen show almost 1600x multi scoring.
Now this is the old bench so it doesn't compare to the 8350k score above.
1600x
Edit: didn't realize the the above screen shot was so big.
