Updated: Launch Month - NVIDIA Super is a GeForce RTX 2060 ($249), 2070 ($399), 2080 ($599)

Updated: Launch Month - NVIDIA Super is a GeForce RTX 2060 ($249), 2070 ($399), 2080 ($599)

On the web there is active discussion on what that 'Super' video was all about. A logical deduction can be applied here. GeForce  RTX 2070, 2080 (Ti) are not doing so well due to pricing. The RTX 2060 has an alternative in GTX 1650 and 1660. So what remains?, yeah at least a refresh for 2070 and 2080 with AMD NAVI in sight.

A new a rumor surrounding the NVIDIA Super Teaser Trailer that appeared a few days ago surfaced, the rumor suggests that NVIDIA will release new (refreshed) RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080 graphics cards, and that they will cost $249, $399 and $599 respectively. Before we continue, it's all speculation up-to this okay?

Update 21.06.2019: Web chatter now is that the possible launch schedule of the super Geforce will be in mid-July, slightly after AMD's new hardware Ryzen 3000 and Radeon RX 5700 launch. it is inclear if all products would launch at the same date, or would be spread out over July.

Word right now is that NVIDIA will be releasing alternatives for the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080. The cards would get faster GDDR6 memory, but also higher clock rates due to binning the GPUs. Naturally, when things get a notch faster you expect them to be priced higher, now another rumor contradicts that claim as Nvidia would be planning to undercut the price by $100. If you tally things up then in chronological order the MSRP would be $249, $399 and $599 respectively.

A $399 price would at the very least bring the 2070 SUPER in the NAVI playing field pricing and likely performance wise. The timing of all this is just silly though, in the middle of the summer vacation time. It is now suggested that NVIDIA will present the new Super products (super charged) at E3 2019, trying to steal some thunder from AMD, who is expected to make announcements regarding Navi at E3.

Yeah, what will these cards be called .. like GeForce RTX 2070 / 2080 SUPER edition? Also, if correct, questions do arise as what will happen with the pricing structure of the currently RTX line, or will they simple slowly be replaced?

Updated: French website Vonguru claimes to have learned of two new "Super GeForce": one faster than the RTX 2070, the other faster than the RTX 2080th Both are in the report as "Turing Refresh" with higher GPU clock and faster GDDR6 memory with 16 Gbps instead of 14 Gbps. The rumors about an updated 2060 remain vague but is suggested being a 2176 shader products

Rumored specs of the three updated cards:

Specifications totally unconfirmed for the Super products

in a Chinese forum there is mention of a new RTX 2080 with the full shader cluster of the TU104 GPU with 3.072 shader units available as possibility. That would be the same as the professional model Quadro RTX 5000, slightly faster GDDR6 memory is in the range of the possible. The  RTX 2070 Super is expected to switch from the TU106 to a variant of the larger TU104 chip and thus offer more shader units with unchanged memory. This is the performance of the RTX 2070 Super of the previous RTX 2080 come close, which in turn will be lowered in price.

We expect official announcements at August 21, Gamescom 2019, not E3.

Update: it seems the naming now kinda has been confirmed by many and that it indeed is an upshift of refreshed products, much like shown above. Specs etc have not leaked jut yet. But the name is RTX 2080 Super and so onwards

Sigh... these are the what the prices should have been at launch. We really need competition from AMD to stop Nvidia from abhorrent GPU prices.

I'm sure they'll do something like this to try to distract from AMD. Gonna be interesting how it plays out.

Wait, if those SuperCharged 2060/2070/2080 gettintg 100$ price cut- what does it mean for the current "slower" 2060/2070/2080 pricing?
