Rumor: NVIDIA likely launches GeForce RTX 4090 first then later RTX 4080/70 (Updated)

The company's launch strategy is beginning to leak out among insiders just a few months after the formal announcement of the new NVIDIA GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture.

According to speculation from 3DCenter.org, the business may bank on the release of the extremely powerful RTX 4090, followed by the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070. While the site speculates that they may opt with the RTX 4080 initially, as they did with the 3080 and 2080, before introducing the RTX 4090 and RTX 4070 models, tipster kopite7kimi insists this is not the case. On his Twitter aaccount, he indicated that he had received assurance that the company will launch with its most powerful model.

NVIDIA has often launched new lines of GPUs, beginning with the x080 model, and later introducing variations with more or less power.
The decision to unveil the RTX 4090 would be a way for NVIDIA to send a "message" to its competition AMD / Intel as well as the general public. The RTX 4090 is expected to be built on the AD102 GPU, with 16128 CUDA cores, 26GB of 24Gbps GDDR6X memory, with a TDP of 450W. According to rumors, this should equate to twice the performance of the RTX 3090, which would be further boosted in a Ti edition.

Although NVIDIA has only acknowledged that significant news is on the way for the second half of 2022, the company has yet to confirm any of the leaked information about its new GPUs.

Updated 6/6/2022

The RTX 4090, RTX 4080, RTX 4070, and RTX 4060 are expected to be released in October, November, December, and January 2023. This has progressed to the point where nearly every month from now to the beginning of 2023 has been mentioned at least once. These assumptions are bolstered by new rumors from "Twitter leakers," who have recently gained notoriety.

Another rumor is that the RTX 4060 may have a greater TDP than an RTX 3070. But, if everything in the upper class slips into the next higher TDP class.

Now that I think about it, I seem to recall 3060 Ti was only released in January. If that's the case with the 4000 series as well, I might have a really long wait ahead of me to see a card that would be of interest to me. 4070 will probably cost 700 euros, likely even more, so I'm not going to look at it, aside from academic interest. I do hope, though, that AMD wouldn't lag behind as much as it did last time. It was due to waiting for the 6700 XT release, a couple of months after 3060 Ti, that I missed the opportunity to buy a 3060 Ti.

Those buying a RTX 4090 simply want that card and shouldn't complain.

4070 is now rumored to come in
Q4 this year and yeah, 700eur+ is also what im expecting.

Anyway if you get opportunity for a decent priced 3060ti or 6700xt just go for it.

Do you think ferraris are overpriced too, just because peek performance cost a premium? I’m happy if they release the best card first.
