Rumor: GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 10496 Shader cores; January 2021 for 999 USD?

Rumor: GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 10496 Shader cores; January 2021 for 999 USD?

But wait there's more Dave. Next to To 3060 Ti, 3070 Ti there now also is a rumor surfacing that a possible RTX 3080 Ti is on in the blueprint and roadmap from NVIDIA.

At least, according to Kopite7kimi  GPU used is the GA102-250-KD-A1 and it would get shader cores joined with GDDR6X memory on a 384-bits wide bus. The RTX 3080 has 8704 cores and a 320-bit memory bus, the RTX 3090 has 10,496 cores and also 384-bit bus width. With the same bus width as that of the RTX 3090 which has 24 GB gddr6x that would mean a SKU with 12 GB of graphics memory. If correct then the 3080 Ti is to replace the earlier rumored 3080 20GB. Again, this news item is to be taken with care and disclaimers, as we do not know the validity of the claims. It's all getting very confusing, we agree.

Update: Kopite now has updated his findings and adds a shader processor count of the series, 10496 Shader cores. Also, the memory spec now sits at 20 GB (I know, I know .. each day a new or changing rumor it seems).

Update November 11th; According to a new HKEPC report, NVIDIA will launch its brand new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti in January next year. The report also mentions that the 3080 Ti will lack the NVLINK connector. Lastly, the plate number is PG133 SKU 15, so the RTX 3080 uses the same design. As for price, the site mentions an introductory price of $999. This would be an attractive alternative to the RTX 3090, which is currently priced at $ 1,499.

We'll leave you with this beautiful (non-official render).

I can't believe people keep pretending like Nvidia is saying anything here.

After ordering on the day of release, and waiting for 77 days (11 weeks, or 1848 hours, or 110,880 minutes) my EVGA 3080 has arrived today.

It took all that time to move from queue position #66 to taking delivery of it. I cannot quite believe it's actually sitting in my PC, I have to keep checking Nvidia Control Panel just to make sure I'm not dreaming.

I'm happy for you. What do you think? Is it what you expected? Any bugs etc?

I expect 3080 Ti to have 20 GB on a 320 bit bus and full chip (or, 98% like 3090)
