Rumor: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180 Expected in July?

A new generation of graphics cards from Nvidia would become available in July, according to close-lipped sources from Tom's Hardware. The next-gen GPUs would be based on the Turing platform, but details in any shape or form lack, whatsoever.

While it remains a rumor, it's stated that Nvidia would deliver the first GPUs and memory starting June 15th towards its partners. If that's the case then it'll be plausible to see Founders edition cards a month later with AIB partners launching in August or September with custom versions. This info is derived from Tom's Hardware who writes that all this is based on information from industry sources. They do not say anything about the names of the cards yet. This could be the 11 or 20 series, or the GTX 1180 or the GTX 2080.

Specifications for the Turing GPU are not reported, and all info posted on that in the past remains pure speculation, but word is that it'll be a GPU based on TSMC's 12nm FinFET process with 3584 shader cores, 224 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. It's also said to sport "8-16GB" of DDR6 memory and features a TDP of 170 to 200 watts. The GTX 1170, meanwhile, is rumored to come with 2,688 CUDA cores, run at 1.5GHz to 1.8GHz, and also have 8 to 16GB of GDDR6 memory. Again, this last paragraph is based on pure speculation.
