Rumor: GeForce RTX 4090 66% quicker than RTX 3090 Ti and 82% faster than RTX 3090.

On Twitter, NVIDIA leaker Kopite7kimi shared the first Ada GeForce RTX 4090 benchmark. According to 3DMark Time Spy Extreme Graphics, the card achieves 19,000 points.

In the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme in Graphics test, the RTX 4090 outperforms the RTX 3090 Ti by 66 percent and the RTX 3090 by 82 percent. However, one synthetic benchmark is insufficient. Despite its massive boost at 4K, the GPU may perform differently in other benchmarks, raytracing performance of the RTX 40 series is unknown. The RTX 4090 COULD contain 16384 CUDA Cores, over 50% more than the RTX 3090 Ti. That implies that boosting cores is only one approach to accelerate the next flagship. TDP and next-generation clocks are expected to rise.

The next NVIDIA graphics card series might arrive in the fourth quarter. It is uncertain how the RTX 4090 was tested so early or how the drivers are doing. To prevent leaks, NVIDIA restricts pre-launch drivers, so how Kopite7kimi can make his claim is unknown.

Maybe, with 82% gains, and "only" 30-40% more TDP than a 3090's ball park, this isn't that bad taking in the numbers, purely from a generation jump point.

I agree. I know these are just rumors but if this is true, that's a pretty cool leap in performance. The guesstimations that are going through my brain right now are some pretty nice framerate lifts with titles I play in 4k. :)
