Rumor: GeForce GTX Titan Black Edition and GTX 790

So we all know and understand that at one point Nvidia will release a Dual-GPU GeForce GTX 790 right ? Whenever that happens, I do not know for sure, maybe March e.g. CeBIT time though. It is very likely that product will get two 780 Ti GPUs e.g. full GK110 cores with 4992 Cuda Cores, 416 TMUs and 80 ROPs. It would be a beast of a card of course. Titan however now is rumored to get an update as well, the GTX Titan Black Edition.

Basically the GTX Titan Black Edition would become a new GK110 based card featuring the full 2880 Cuda cores, 240 TMUs and 48 ROPswith 6 GB memory running along a 384-bit interface. Clock frequencies are not unknown but it will get a 250W TDP and black colored Titan NVTTM cooler and the card would get full double precision enabled.

if these rumors are true, what's the point of titan black edition with that price tag? 790's specs look interesting though.

The Black Edition looks interesting for me but they really need to lower their prices because the 290/290X offer a much better value with a much better price and almost the same performance.

C´mon Nvidia do something useful and lower the prices of your cards...

So essentially the Titan Black is a re-badged 780ti with double the VRAM ?

Price of the 790 looks interesting though.

It seems like that but i´ve only noticed now that they are asking 300 dollars for more 3Gb vram, WTF???...

This can´t be true or can?...

most likely it has the compute power of titan too. as we know 780 ti is way weaker on that section.

Yea that's ridiculous. Unless it also has high performing double-precision like the titan.

This can´t be true or can?...

Well i doubt it, BUT if its true that's gonna be my next card

Why does the "790" not have 2 x 2880 = 5760 cuda cores if its supposedly 2 x 780ti's ?

Yea it must be the double-precision and that must be the reason why it´s called Titan instead of 780Ti but i couldn´t care less about that so no way i´m paying 1000 bucks for that type of card... Even the price of the 790 is hard to justify but ok...

Maxwell can´t come soon enough...

the 790 but, once the prices drop a tad, would be so much fun. I would count on one for witcher3.

250W TDP for black Titan? My grey Titan hits it's TDP limit @ ~1050mhz in some scenarios.

300W for 2 full GK110 cores? HAHAHAH omg, not gunna happen unless they are running at 600mhz.

Nvidia need to remove this stupid TDP throttling, we should be allowed to decide how much power it uses. Or is there some law they are having to obey?
