Rumor: AMD allegedly to release seven NAVI GPUs but faces efficiency issues
YouTube channel Adored TV discussed alleged specifications of AMD's upcoming Navi GPUs in a video. It is mentioned that AMD will release the GPUs as a Radeon RX 30xx series with the Radeon RX 3090 XT as the flagship model (NAVI20).
This is one of these posts where you need to take the information into account with a massive grain of salt, please. Navi 20 would be postponed until the first quarter of 2020 as AMD has problems with the efficiency of the chips. The rumor mentions that AMD would release a total of seven GPUs based on the Navi generation. A Navi 12 chip with 32 or 40 compute units. Three Navi 10 variants would come with 48 to 56 CUs. The two top models would be equipped with a larger Navi 20 chip, which would receive 60 or 64 compute units.
Adored TV mentions that AMD has issues with the efficiency of the 7nm chips, energy consumption and heat development would be high for specifically the Navi 20 samples. To compensate AMD would only be able to lower clock, which would be lower than 7nm Radeon VII. Navi 20 GPUs (premium GPU) would be delayed until the first quarter of 2020. The midrange NAVI video cards would still be released in the third quarter of this year.
The source of the information is difficult to trace, the information new, however, can't be dismissed either. Please take common sense and the usual disclaimers in mind.

Better this instead of Over-Hype :p
Navi will be priced good & will have solid performance IMhO.
Note:
Don't believe in +25% Radeon VII hype

Resonable is to hope that will be ~Vega 56/64 at 150-175tW with price tag of max to 249€
If so, it will be great success for ATI/AMD Team.

I wasn't aiming for a Navi 20 card, but I find it hard to believe that the heat and efficiency issues only affect the top tier cards.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Vega cards aren't cool or efficient either. Which raises the question: Is it worth buying a Navi card, or just wait for the next (non-GCN) architecture?
I'm a little bit disappointed, but let's wait and see. If Navi 10 can deliver RTX 2070 performance at less than 200W for ~400€, I'll buy one.

Those are bad bad news if they are true.
