During a recent GALAXY GOC 2017 Gaming gathering, galaxy and partners showed a thing or two. Interestingly, Intel disclosed a product roadmap that shows the desktop processor plans for the coming year.

The photo originates from mydrivers, Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X will continue into the third quarter of next year, by the fourth quarter of 2018, we will move towards something named new to us, "Cascade Lake -X ". While Intel did not mention anything about it, it seems to become an updated 14+ nm process fab. So basically this would become the refresh of Skylake-X.

The mainstream platform then, the next major product will be the rumored eighth generation of Core launch code-named Coffee Lake-S, fully covering the 6-core, 4-core, dual-core, with a thermal design power on the K Series at 95W, and the others at 65W, 35W. Intel seems to focus on a March/April 2018 timeframe here. Interstring, or lacking here, is a mention of the 8-core Coffee lake part and Z390 chipset. Considering 8-cores are available on the Skylake-X platform, Intel could drop the ball on that one.

You will notice low power Apollo and Gemini lake entries as well, these would be 10W low power quad- and dual-core SOCs. I ran the photo through an optimization suite, which now makes it readable. Have a peek:

Thanks, SH SOTN for the news submit.
