Review: Seasonic Focus SGX-650 Power Supply

Review: Seasonic Focus SGX-650 Power Supply

The Seasonic Focus SGX-650 is a small form factor (SFX-L) power supply, but it’s still possible to install it in ATX systems. It has 80 plus Gold certification, which means that it’s 90% efficient at 50% load @ 110V, and even 92% efficient @ 230 V. The SFX format makes this model an interesting one for people with HTPC chassis.

The problem with the Seasonic Focus 650 was with the Gold version since it only shipped with one PEG cable (Platinum comes with 2) that was able to do around 225-250 watts. They fixed it by offering a replacement PEG cable that was better suited for the job but it should have shipped with a better cable out of the box. Let's just hope they give a better cable now than before.

I agree with you as it has 650W...

but on other hand why put so much W in a PSU of that size?
and also most PSU with that size will be paired with ITX board that doesn't need a second PEG.

But i guess it is targeting other case.

BTW it is a great brand for this size of PSU.
