Review: Riotoro CR1080 Reversed Compact PC Chassis

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/03/2017 09:27 AM | source: | 5 comment(s)

We review the Riotoro CR1080 Compact PC Case Mini Tower, a product series that is designed for compact builds with decent looks. This case can house a regular ATX motherboard, but also has a special feature, the motherboard is reversed, thus sitting up-side down at the right side of the chassis.

For this price a Corsair 270R is much more worth it IMO.

It's nice to see companies prioritizing smaller cases. There's so much wasted space in chassis these days for most PCs. My biggest turnoff to this case is the bulge on the side panel. The depth of it ought to fit extra-large GPU and CPU heatsinks, but, the positioning of the slope looks like it'd get in the way of either of those.

I'd like to see more flavors of this case, like one that uses STX PSUs and maybe uses a 3.5" bay at the front instead of 5.25", making the case a little bit slimmer. The design of this also seems it would downscale easily, so micro ATX and ITX versions could easily be done.
