Review: NVIDIA Shield Android TV game console
Finally available in the Benelux, the NVIDIA Shield Android TV. The Android TV box based unit is a little gem as it properly takes over your Smart-TV experience, but can also function as a simple game console. You can use Nvidia Grid to stream games (subscription based) and, if you install Kodi, you'll have a fully fledged Ultra HD ready media player.

GeForce Now is probably the more interesting part of it all, it runs surprisingly well and can see it taking off eventually.
Thanks for the review Hilbert
It's a powerful little device and definitely worth it.

I've had one of these since release and its an amazing little box. I mostly use mine as a media center with Kodi and Netflix but the Nvidia game streaming capability works great too.

I have had one for 4 month now and I'm using it for media center and playing my pc games from my pc in the office to the living-room.
I have it connected to a Marantz SR-7010 and a 3d Projector with 125" screen and I love it.
It can play all my movie formats (.iso - .mkv - .avi etc. etc.) and most .iso formats it can also view the blu-ray menu.
For now Kodi supports DTS-HD - DTS X - Dolby TrueHD - Dolby Atmos and of course all the other lower codec like standart DTS - Dolby digital.
I have no issue with streaming games from my pc in 1080p60fps over LAN.
Only thing I would like to change is that you have to manually go in and switch between 1080p 60Hz - 1080p 50Hz - 1080p 23.976Hz.
So when you want to play you need 1080p 60Hz and for most movies 1080p 23.976Hz.
I still miss the option to see 3D movies but it might come along.

8W, small package, passive cooling. How does that thing feel to touch after prolonged use?
If it gets hot, may we get IR photo?
Price is quite good. I wonder if there are people using it for other than intended purposes.
(And I do not mean Doorstop.)
