Review: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Founders edition graphics card

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/17/2016 07:50 PM | source: | 460 comment(s)

The embargo has been lifted, we review the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Founders edition. This 8 GB GDDR5X based spawn of something evil is fabbed with all new Pascal architecture and yes, 16 nm FinFET has arrived. It's impressive, it's silent and it rocks hard when it comes to sheer performance. We'll test the card with the hottest new game titles based on DX12, DX11 and OpenGL.

From the last charts it looks like the 1070 beats both 980ti and the Titan X. That looks great and if the price is around £350, Nvidia have a killer card right there.
