Jesus Christus, why wouldn't you just buy the 4090 if you're gonna get one, more shaders/cores for the money! Horrendously priced product the 4080, not to mention the 4090 is already badly priced......but the 4080, leave it alone!

On available cards on shop; 4080 has 2/3 Vram, 2/3 price and 2/3 performance versus 4090.
Also one time payment, haven't extra +800 euros for 4090. I will go 4080 at least next couple years now..
CP2077 RT Ultra 4K DLSS Perf. ~100fps is nice.

I don't understand why some people pay hundreds more for the same chip of a certain AIB, just cuz its ASUS or w/e ' premium ' brand.
Back in the day the AIBS actually made a difference with clockspeed differences that were huge in some cases, seeing 10-20-30% differences in real world performance.
Nowadays people pay hundreds more for a strix because 2% more performance.

In my opinion the only reason to be choosy about which AIB card you get is cooling & noise performance. I'd try to choose a good value version that keeps the card cool without much hassle.

Here it costs 4x the price of GTX 970 when it released. Kind of totally ridiculous, considering its just one step up in the hierarchy. Glad I grabbbed 2nd hand 3080 Vision OC for 1/3 of the price of 4080, when everybody was selling the old cards getting ready for new gen. I knew this will happen, now those ppl are stuck, can only buy 4090 for a price of used car or wait. 4080 makes no sense. It also created a great contact for me, as the seller was a editor of a HW magazine, so he has a lot of such HW in really good shape. He invited me in his house, where I could choose from three 3080s and test em on his open bench test LOL
