I expect them to drop the price to $1000 and call it a good deal. I'd never consider an x80 card over $7-800, but that's just me I'm sure. Rumor has it Nvidia will be charging around $7-800 for the 70 class cards. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4060 that performs like a 3070 for the price of a 3080.

Maybe he paid Elon Musk a visit and got some of the same stuff that made Musk pay 44 billion dollars for Twitter. It's the extra hyper super ultra nasty stuff.
Leather jacket started smoking some really nasty stuff.

Here also in stores for around 1800$ - 2000$ depending on manufacturer - nobody seems to buy - the quantity didn't changed for three days except for Gainward cards that are the cheapest. At these prices 4090 is the only card worth buying IF you have the money and patience to hunt one at a convenient price. Maybe it is the same as AMD with their Ryzen CPU's (people expecting the 3D cache versions) and people are expecting the 4080Ti announcement around the time when AMD 7XXX will hit the stores and finally have some reviews Then 4080 will have a price cut - maybe...
The 4080 is a strange card - doesn't seems to give any kind of trade off: it uses the same bulky cooling as 4090 so you need the same space - you can't say that you want one because you can't fit a 4090 in your case, it has the same power adapter -you can't say that you buy this instead of the 4090 because you don't want the problems that appeared with the adapter for the 4090, the price in stores is the same as 4090FE, so what else is there?
