Nvidia were prudent (sneaky) not to release an FE. They wanted to avoid any blame for the high price, so they passed the buck onto the AIBs.

I think this is the case. They are probably regretting releasing the 3070 and 3080 cards at their launch prices. The 20xx series didn't get a great reception and until mining started to take off just before 30xx released they were treading water with share price and sales. With hindsight they probably wished they had put $200 on each.

Does this 3080 now replace the old 3080?

"Guru3D Recommended" so you are recommending for people to buy RTX 3080 that you know costs 1500-1600€? OK...

1) read the review properly 2) you sound as if you're blaming Hilbert for the rip-off pricing of NVidia graphics cards, he's commented about the ridiculous pricing in many graphics cards reviews. Hilbert is only reviewing a new variant of the 3080 for us.

Cost double what my 6800xt did, less Vram and not even really any faster.
What the fuck is Nvidia on.

Quote: NVIDIA can only manufacture a limited amount of GPUs, and they will still need to decide how much allocation goes to gaming and how much goes to other markets. We hope NVIDIA makes prudent judgments, as if the trend continues, the PC gaming sector will die off.
Agreed. My systems have always and will always be cost effective performance builds.
As things currently stand its a case of a fool and his money soon part. I don't see the 360ti coming down to £300 any time soon. That is such a nice card for performance and power consumption@ RRP.
Have to hope that when the 40 series comes out things will get back to normal and I will open my wallet to PC hardware again.

Yes!....this is an enthusiast site and we all want one.

PS: I would love to have one.

I don't because of the heat. I need/want a sub 250watt card. I have had higher wattage but here in Texas in the summer my room turns into an easy bake oven. Plus I like a near silent computing experience. Something like the 3070 Noctua edition appeals to me. Anyhow I have decided to make my old 1070 work until the next generation of GPU's out because I suspect I can get a very powerful mid range card that is under 250 watts.
