Review: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning
We review the long anticipated and awaited MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning edition. You'll retrieve up-to 1.3 Volts to play with on the GPU voltage range. This 6 GB card is overclocked for you at default already, typically a reference GTX 980 Ti will run 1 GHz. The Lightning however comes with default clocks of 1203 (base) / 1304 (boost) MHz. Armed with 6 GB graphics memory this product was built to impress.

Is this one of those special reviewer's sample cards that come with 122% power limit - but actual retail cards are only like 109% power limit?
MSI pulled that crap on the 980Ti cards. Review samples had very high power limits, but retail cards did not.
They meant the same thing. 122% = 109%, the difference was that one BIOS has lower starting limit. 109% Max version had higher default limit. You can't compare percentages without knowing what it actually means. In this case 100 % did not mean the same thing.

Very few 980 ti go higher than low 1500`s on air, only the best of the best, impressive memory clock though.

HBM can't go over 4GB? I wasn't aware of that. I think I need to do some reading.

You can do it yourself, mod your power limit and make it what you want, I`m at 120%
