Any advice before unpacking?
Having just purchased a Zotac GTX980 Ti Amp! Extreme, I understood from the specs of my motherboard, ASUS P8Z68-V PRO GEN3, that the graphics card would work in the x16 PCIe slot.
I decided to check for the latest Bios for my motherboard and whilst doing so came across a few alarming threads wherein people with that ASUS motherboard had not been able to get the card to POST.
I was wondering if anyone here has that motherboard and a 980 Ti which they managed to get working as a combination and would pass on the knowledge as to how to accomplish a full, stable boot?
I bought the motherboard as it promised a fair degree of future proof use, especially in the GPU department. I'll be miffed if their marketing hype was all bluff and stuff.
Here's hoping I get a positive reply or two soon as my rights of return will expire under EU consumer law next week.
Ignore my rig specs on the left, they are over a decade old! I'll update them soon.
