I got my 660gtx half way threw it life and I still on using it some people wait generations ( talkin 2-3 and more) between upgrades. it not worth upgrading every generation even if you have the money to burn to do so, same concept for cpu/mobo upgrades it not worth it to do it every new gen
being early adopter you get satisfaction of having latest card for longer time. if you wait too long you will enter that annoying time frame where current card is about to be phased out with new card (imagine if you bought gtx970 a month ago, that would suck). also, i don't think prices will change drastically in a month, maybe 10-20 euros after initial demand goes away, but the only way price can really drop is if amd release a competing product.

I cannot believe ppl saying: I made up my mind. The competition has something new just around the corner that is worth waiting to see it.
Just saying, take care of your wallets.
What is "around the corner" for you?
September, October...January?
1070 is here NOW, AMD alternative is "coming" some time in the future.

HH, great review and looking forward to upgrading from my gtx 770 to this.
If I could add to your analysis could we get a clock for clock comparison for this and the FE? As the review is taking temperatures from an overclocked card, I don't feel the cooler is well represented. If both cards are running at the same spec, we could better see the cooling capacity.
Secondly, could we get some numbers on how overclocking the card and power consumption relate? I know this is usually covered for processor reviews but it's something else that's appealing to me and likely others as well. It could reveal how efficient pascal is with performance.
On a last note, maybe nearing the conclusion a graph of 3dmark scores vs the cost of the cards to show a performance per dollar comparison.
Regardless to my comments- keep doing an awesome job! Thanks

SMH! DX12 is not asynchronous compute. You are exactly the person AMD hopes to ensnare with this PR campaign. Look at all the DX12 benches even SoA and see that the new nvidia cards are leading. Likely in a few months Vega will match or beat GP104 then you will see GP100/102.
that's not an answer. Is the dx12 async implemented in the chip or in software ? The other aspect , how much memory would the software need to do pure async computing ? If the card is 4 gigs, how much is dedicated to async, now the end user doesnt have 4 gigs now. what i the latency of the software, ect.
