Backplate is not too important, it's more a sale argument...

This card is not done for OC...

agree, most of the time backplate retain heat close to the PCB wich is bad on heavy use.

exept for memory on backside (that can be cooled with simple low profile heater) it's aestetical only (and so Gaming style :) )
