Review: Lexar NM610 NVMe M.2. SSD

Review: Lexar NM610 NVMe M.2. SSD

Lexar refreshed its NVMe lineup with the NM610 series M2 Solid State Drives. A value SSD proposition on the 8cm M2 form factor. The Lexar NM610 can read up to 2100 MB/s and write up to 1600MB/s. It does so with a trick though, as it uses a small slice of your RAM memory as buffer.

Nice review Hilbert. But I gotta say that WD Blue SN550 at $130 just can't be matched. Thankfully we are finally getting into a time where NVMe with high capacity is starting to get affordable.

Great review. I noticed that you were running with DDR4 RAM @ 3600 MHz, it would be interesting to see if lower RAM speeds effects the sustained sequential read/write as the system RAM is used as cache.

Made no difference for me when before i switched from 3200 - 3600 on my Samsung 970pro 1tb, also Crucial p1 1tb can be had for less will only a slightly low read speed.

I dont think the samsung SSD is using the System RAM for cache.
