After the reference review we will now review the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 G1 SOC gaming graphics card. Armed with a totally custom design, two 8-pin power feeds and an all new WindForce based cooler this Maxwell based high-end card hauls azzz! The G1 Gaming has 4 GB graphics memory, is energy efficient and factory overclocked for you. You will be surprised by how this card looks, how silent it is and how well it performs.

My PSU has 1x 6power and 1x 8power connector. Will it work?

Whats the best gtx980 offer atm? Im not talking about the classifields which do not exist, but between MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA, which one would you go and why?

Is it possible to get a high res shot of the back of the card without the backplate? I want to see if it's using the same voltage controller that the reference cards use (those can't be soft volt modded).

Hilbert can you plz give me feedback to the resolution from the Displayports?

Somebody claimed his 970 gaming could only output 1080p through them.

Can they output 2560x1440 on the 980? I need this to connect them to my ROG Swift.

Thx in advance.

Obviously 2560x1440 is supported. But you need to connect the monitor to the lowest DP connector for it to function. The other two ports then work daisy-chained for surround view modes I think.

Anyway to verify, I just seated the card again and the lower DP connector works fine at Ultra HD 3840x2160 (looking at the monitor at that resolution with the GBT 980 right now).

---

Update, there ... I just received my ASUS Swift as well and decided to quickly unpack and connect it for you. So you are in luck, to the left the 980 from Gigabyte, to the right the Swift you are about to get at 2560x1440 over DP.

Now, name one reviewer/editor who does stuff like this for their reader-base :)

NVM, I'm just going to wait for the 20nm parts. Then I'll make up my mind as to what I'll need.
