Hey don't want to be the bearer of bad news but..... Eclap had 7950CF about a year and a half ago. Don't fall into the trap of thinking he is bias because he is not.

He is a butt hurt fan boy, has the ban hammer slammed when someone says something he does not like, i have seen it all before.

you just have to mention that performance drops when new cards come out, its true, it is right in your face but he will just argue and argue

Hitman:
1080 x 1 - 105fps
480 CF - 75fps
1060 SLI - 65fps

Neither of those CF and SLI scores are CF or SLI there both the single GPU scores at 1080p

Two 1060s would probably be at about 1080 level. So I can understand why people would want it. I did it years ago when I bought two 6950s, they where cheaper and outperformed a single 480 (fermi) if you looked at numbers on a benchmark. Wasn't exactly smooth gameplay then, I've also had two 7970s and would sometimes disable one.

Now I just go for a single powerful GPU, so much nicer, hence why I have a single 1070. Wanted a 1080, just couldn't part with that much money plus a waterblock for it lol

I'm basing this on the 1060 being a 4 Tflop card and the 480 being a 5.7 Tflop card. I do believe the larger memory bandwidth of the 480 will help as well. But again as of right now 1060 is the winner

Even that 1060 is on average boost around 4.7 tflop card and with good oc 5.4 tflop card. But it still has advantage a rather big one in GPixels nearly double.

Overclocking the GTX 1060 with PrecisionX OC

We see some really good scaling with most of our games with this very good overclock of the GTX 1060 Founders Edition over stock settings. In some cases, the framerate increase makes a difference to the fluid playability of some of the games at 2560×1440, including with DOOM and with Star Wars Battlefront.

Hitman at 3840×2160 is the only benchmark that refused to launch with our maximum overclock so we left the stock figure in for it, the rest of the games were stable at 2100MHz.
