Review: G.Skill RipJaws SR910 7.1 headset
We review the RipJaws SR910 USB headset from G.Skill, this gaming headset offers 7.1 channel audio with the help of not two, no 10 drivers. Yep five in each ear-cup. The headset is aimed at gamers who like precision audio, so that when they get sniped .. they will actually hear the bullet coming from behind them. Well, at least the rifle firing I guess.

Interesting review. Like other 7.1 headsets, those are some really tiny drivers. The tradeoff in sound quality just looks too big for me, but I can see some people Gaming with these.

Tweaktown gave it a really bad review saying the sound quality was pretty poor (maybe they didn't do the adjustements like you did ? ) lack of bass, and poor mic quality, when will we see a true 7.1 gaming headset worthy of it's name ?
I'm curious about the new Mad Catz 7.1 TE you annouced not long ago, would be nice if you reviewed that 1 !

You can't change the fact that physical surround sound headsets consist of tiny drivers, which severely limits the range and quality of the sound you're going to hear. It doesn't matter what you "tweak" to try and change that.

There was a massive driver release after the TT review that improved sound quality, we tested with the new driver released 2 weeks ago.

This may be just what I'm looking for, I mostly listen to music in my car, I do however play games at my pc. I can't be bothered with setting up surround sound on my pc as I've already got surround sound set up for my tv/xbone. The price is fair for what it is, its cheaper than all the over priced gaming headsets I've seen so far and its actually surround sound, not just virtual. May pick a pair up for Christmas.
