Still it does feels like they've dropped optimizing the 780(ti and titan inc)'s as well as they could.

How much more optimising could they do for a GPU released in 2013 though?

New GPUs will get decent boosts from new drivers for the first few months of their lifetime, but after over a year, there's probably not much more they can do for older GPUs

Same will happen with the 9xx series in a years time when newer GPUs arrive

This. I don't understand why people are surprised that the 970 closed the gap to the 780ti. It was always going to improve with new drivers more so than older cards.

What the hell are you people talking about.

I clearly stated that other people were saying that a 980 was slower or only equal to a 780ti, and said;

I have highlighted the obvious quotation marks for your convenience.

When the 980 came out tons of 780ti owners on this forum were claiming that an overclocked 780ti was faster than a 980...I can't have been the only one who noticed it.
Any review will tell you the 980 is faster, who said the 780ti is faster than a 980?

Thats understandable but its when 280x is roughly on par with 780 in some recent titles that questions arise. Have a feeling NVs driver team has been busy full time with Maxwells cards since release and let things slip with kepler, hopefully just momentarily until things get back on track.
