Review: ASUS Republic Of Gamers Matrix GeForce GTX 980 Ti Platinum

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/28/2015 03:04 PM | source: | 13 comment(s)

In this article we review the ASUS Republic of gamers Matrix GeForce GTX 980 Ti Platinum edition. Redesigned to perform and to be tweaked this product comes factory overclocked at fairly high levels and has got that all new DirectCU based cooling design. The card has RGB LEDs that change color based on the workload, a defroster that prevents condensation build-up with sub-zero overclocking, and even a safe-mode button that can rescue you from overly-zealous overclocks.

I absolutely LOVE your reviews. They are simply flawless. I honestly cannot think of a better site than yours in terms of reviews. The reason for this is because you always provide the FPS for all the "big boys" - as in Lightning, AMP! Extreme and now Matrix. I love the fact that you compare them all side by side in terms of FPS. Many other websites just casually throw in reference cards and compare them with one "big boy".

Also this - AMP! Extreme = Lightning = Matrix. You can't go wrong with any of these. For anyone who's still undecided as to which 980 Ti you should be getting - in my humble opinion you should really be considering those 3 cards, nothing else comes close.

I preferred the black/red color scheme, still... beastly card! Too bad the OC is pretty average on all of these high end 980Tis.

Pretty cool card, though I wouldn't buy it myself :) Awesome review as always!

And all the cards reach ~1500 maximum with one card (can't recall) hitting 2200 on the mem instead of 2100. These cards WON'T go any further without extreme cooling.

Oh and I honestly think that AMP! Extreme is literally the best option in terms of what you get for your money.

AMP! Extreme is ~ £570
Lightning is ~ £620
Matrix is ~ £660

If I wanted for my card to look "nice" I'd most likely go for Matrix. But the question is do I really wanna pay an extra £90 for pretty much identical performance? If you want something in-between (looking nice and what you get for your money) I'd grab a Lightning.
