Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Launch Trailer, Screenshots and no RTX

Right, there's quite a bit of news for this title. First off, the PC release will not be RTX optimized, meaning there's no DXR Raytracing active.

There was a bit of confusion about it as the game got promoted with some PC screenshots holding an RTX logo, as it turned out it was merely to promote the RTX 20 series GPUs, nothing more. Good news though as the PC version will get better visuals than its console counterpart though. Features include increased draw distances for better navigation, higher quality global illumination and ambient occlusion for improved day and night lighting, and higher quality snow trails. Furthermore, the game will have improved reflections and deeper, higher resolution shadows at all distances. Tessellated tree textures and improved grass and fur textures will be also added for extra realism.

We have a launch trailer as well as some screenshots for you to peek at. Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out on the PC on November 5th.

The engine can do RTGI but they chose to not include it; or the engine cannot do RTGI?

Judging by past titles they like to play it safe. Nvidia's beta software/hardware needs to mature way more for rockstar to even take a look at it,
going forward doesn't mean releasing titles that run at 60 fps at 1080p with a gpu that costs as much as an entire system.

What do you mean? Even if, let's say you have a slower Internet like me, you could easily download 150+ GB under night. Like i have 36mbps (maybe higher maybe lower) stable, 150 gb is 10 and a half hour, so if you sleep 12 hours, you're good to go under a night, without wasting time.I honestly wish the first update would add another big GBs to the drive, so at least we can know that they fixed/improved alot for a more smooth framerate.

Rockstar has had plenty of time to work on the PC version so I expect a very polished game right out of the box honestly. Also who the hell sleeps for 12 hours? If you're coming down from a 3 day meth bender I can understand.
