Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed to October 26th, 2018

Rockstar has delayed the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game has now been moved from fall 2017 to spring 2018, unfortunately, the publisher is known to have a thing for announcing and moving release dates. You'll now have to wait until October 26 to get our hands on the game.

Rockstar, being king of delays stated the following:

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games

Yeah, even though 2 isn't listed for a PC release, I'm reasonably confident that it will be released afterwards. Possibly Spring/Summer 2019.

I still haven't played the first game, and the only last gen console I still own is the PS3 which I've read is the worst version, so I keep holding off for a PC version. It's very unlikely now as Rockstar haven't really taken advantage of the "HD Remaster" craze. I'm sure i read that porting RDR to X1/PS4 is considered more hassle than it's worth though, so definitely no PC version.

If the X1X offered backwards compatibility that upped the resolution and framerate of 360 games I think I would buy one, and theoretically it should be possible if even the standard X1 can emulate them at 720/30.

I'm guessing us regulars won't be able to enjoy this game until 2019-2020.

IF they make a PC port, in the good way of the word "port" like with GTA V which was sublime, then just like with that it will have to be at least 2 years after console release, so mid 2020 would be my bet.

I'm a huge sucker for western movies and I'm so pissed that they never released RDR1 for PC and now RDR2 looks amazing... would be an even bigger miss. :(

Pretty sure the studio who made RDR1 also works on RDR2 and they never made a PC game, hence we will never see a PC port for RDR2 either.

They're not skilled enough to make PC games.
