NVIDIA held its conference yesterday at a CES 2021 event, there were no surprises. The corporation announced its RTX 30 Mobile series, a 12GB GeForce RTX 3060, and gave more details on the arrival of Resizable BAR in February, as well as multiple games that will receive support for Ray Tracing and DLSS in the near future. Below we summarize the main news.

RTX 30 Mobile
Nvidia unveiled its Ampere-based GeForce RTX 30 mobile series, with three graphics cards targeting different price and performance segments. The GeForce RTX 3080 will make use of the GA104 GPU and will have 6144 shader cores and up to 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. This GPU will be used by high-end notebooks.

The GeForce RTX 3070 will feature 5120 shader cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory. This graphics card will also be offered in high-end notebooks looking to deliver at least 90 FPS in games at 1440p / Ultra.

Finally, the GeForce RTX 3060 will be based on the GA106 GPU and will feature 3840 shader cores and 6 GB of memory. This GPU is targeting gaming notebooks that cost around $ 999 USD and offer 1080p playability.

GeForce RTX 3060
GeForce RTX 3060 then, the new graphics card will have 12 GB of memory, and that it will arrive in February with a starting price of $ 329. The card uses a GA106 Ampere graphics processor and features 3584 shader cores.

Resizable BAR
NVIDIA also talked about the arrival of Resizable BAR for its latest graphics cards in February. Nevertheless, this feature will only be available on RTX 30 series GPUs, both Desktop and Mobile series. This technology allows the processor to gain full access to fast GDDR6 memory of graphics cards, speeding up CPU processing which can result in performance increases. Resizable BAR will require a VBIOS (graphics card) update for the RTX 30 cards that are already on the market. These updates are expected to begin arriving between late February and early March, depending on the manufacturer. In addition, it will also be necessary to have a compatible processor and motherboard. Of the latter, most of the Z490 , B550 and X570 models are already supported, but the list is expected to expand in March. NVIDIA claimed to be working closely with Intel, AMD, and major motherboard manufacturers (ASUS, ASRock, EVGA, Gigabyte, and MSI) to bring Resizable BAR to as many products as possible.

New games with support for Ray Tracing and DLSS
NVIDIA also announced Ray Tracing and DLSS in four new games. FIST and Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach will support DLSS and Ray Tracing; While Call of Duty Warzone and Outriders will be compatible with DLSS. Also, two competitive games will support NVIDIA Reflex, these are Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch.
