The first two GPUs in AMD's RDNA 3 series, which were officially launched on Thursday, November 3, look fantastic but might fall short of competing with the monster GeForce RTX 4090

Scott Herkelman, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's graphics unit, revealed the company's target in a question and answer session following the presentation of the new graphics cards: "1000 dollars per GPU or less." According to him, the company believes that it will be able to give consumers with a solid price-performance ratio within that range.

AMD announced that the RX 7900 XTX will cost 999 dollars, while the RX 7900 XT will cost around 899 dollars. While partner manufacturers' prices may be higher, the business has previously stated that it wants to compete with products such as the RTX 4080 and, in the future, the RTX 4070.

AMD's choice is demonstrated by the fact that it did not release any comparative benchmarks between its new products and the RTX 4090 during the official unveiling of the RDNA 3 range. The most exact comparisons between the manufacturer's product and those given by NVIDIA are expected to emerge until next week, when the RTX 4080 hits the market. Given that NVIDIA's model will cost $1,199, AMD may have a significant edge if benchmarks indicate that its new devices deliver competitive or better performance. By providing users with more affordable options, it may gain traction among gamers who want high-end gear but do not require the most powerful versions on the market.

Both the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the Radeon RX 7900 XT will be available on December 13th, according to AMD. Until then, various partner manufacturers must reveal their unique models as well as the pricing ranges for each of them.
