Radeon RX 6500 XT uses a PCI-E 4.0 x4 interface

AMD unveiled the Radeon RX 6500 XT on Tuesday, with a suggested retail price of US $199. Clearly, given the present shortage scenario, introducing a graphics card for US $ 199 is not an easy effort.

AMD's primary price cut was to its memory, which was reduced to 4GB of GDDR6 memory. As AMD's Head of Gaming, Frank Azor, noted in an interview, it was hard to include 8GB of GDDR6 RAM while keeping the pricing at US $ 199. Additionally, this cut prohibits it from being used for mining, preventing miners from exhausting the supply, and the aesthetics are designed for gamers, as they should be. Another cut was made to the bus, reducing it to 64 bits, resulting in a bandwidth of only 144GB / s, which is minuscule in comparison to any other graphics on the market.

Although it was already visible in photos, as demonstrated by the Videocardz comparison, Asrock verified that the RX 6500 XT has a PCI-E 4.0 x4 interface, which provides limited communication bandwidth with the CPU. While it is true that graphics of this sort do not require a large number of PCI-E lanes, including a PCI-E 4.0 x8 interface would have been ideal. This graphics card will be available on January 19, while the RTX 3050 will be available on January 27, so we'll know who prevails in this lower part of the market in a few weeks.
