Yesterday you have been able to see the launch of the Radeon Radeon RX 550, 560, 570 and 580. But the unannounced Radeon RX 540 surfaced on AMDs website as well.

I am pretty sure this will be an OEM product series though. The Radeon RX 540 will get 8 compute units and that thus means 512 Shader processors. This all is very similar to the  RX 550 however, the memory has been clocked lower which offers 96 GB/s of bandwidth compared to 112 GB/s for the 550. The clock frequency is a notch higher at 1219 MHz.

  • AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB and 8GB with 2,304 shader processors - GDDR5 at 256-bit.
  • AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB and 8GB with 2,048 shader processors - GDDR5 at 256-bit.
  • AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB with 1024 shader processors / GDDR5 - GDDR5 at 128-bit.
  • AMD Radeon RX 550 2GB and 4GB with 512 shader processors / GDDR5 at 128-bit.
  • AMD Radeon RX 540 2GB and 4GB with 512 shader processors / GDDR5 at 128-bit.

The card has a 1.2 TFLOPs rated peak performance, similar to the RX 550. Memory wise these cards will be fitted with either 2 or 4 GB as option, that memory runs a 6 Gbps effective data-rate. The Radeon RX 540 is rated at a 50 Watt TDP.
