Radeon RX 480 for 1080p60 will be plenty for The Division 2
Ubisoft has released the system requirements for the PC version of The Division 2. The multiplayer shooter is currently being developed by Massive Entertainment and uses the in-house Snowdrop engine, which supports the Direct3D-12 graphics interface as in its predecessor.
The rendering engine should have been updated in many places offering improvements in global and volumetric lighting and the representation of leaves or dust, but also water and reflections.
At the minimum, (1080p and 30 fps at low details), The Division 2 needs a Geforce GTX 670 or Radeon R9 270 with 2 GB of video memory including a quad core like the Core i5-2500K or FX-6350; the RAM should be 8 GB. For 1080p with the medium preset and a more fluid 60 fps Ubisoft advises to a Geforce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 480 with a Core i7-4790 or Ryzen 5 1500X including 8 GB of RAM.
At 1440p with 60 fps and high details a Geforce GTX 1070 or a Radeon RX Vega 56; the new GeForce GTX 1660 Ti also falls into this performance class is adviced. CPU wise Massive Entertainment recommends a Core i7-6700K or a Ryzen 7 1700 plus 16 GB of RAM. In 4K with Ultra-Settings, the studio then speaks unsurprisingly of the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti and the Radeon VII, the fastest graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia (the Titan RTX runs out of line).
The PC version of The Division 2 supports SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) as well as HDR (High Dynamic Range), if a corresponding display or a suitable TV with the right graphics card are available. Resolution and frame rate as well as frequency are open at the shooter upwards, even multi-monitor setups or ultra-widescreen models work properly.

I'm glad they fixed DX12 crashes I had during closed/open beta. And it's noticeably faster than DX11.

I played (or tried to play) the open beta 10 days ago.
Most times I couldn't even get past the menu. The game would crash, and I did sent a few of the reports to the devs.
A few hours before the end of the open beta, I lowered the settings and was able to play very smoothly. I'm on a Ryzen 7 1700 with an MSI RX480 Gaming X, playing on a 2560x1080 ultrawide freesync monitor.
I've had problems while gaming before, so It's probably my system that caused the crashes.
I liked what I saw.

Not bad. Although I'm not too impressed with min / optimal / max specs, and that a 480 can drive 1080p medium settings with 60fps also is not surprising.
The 480's a good card, but what's the big deal? I don't get it tbh.
I'm more surprised they think that a 1660TI will be running this game at 1440p/60/high details.... for that to believe it, I would want to wait until I see benchmarks for this.

There is a big difference between the Radeon VII and the 2080Ti.
If they're advising Radeon VII surely they should be mentioning 1080Ti or 2080, not the 2080Ti...
