Quick review: Corsair ML Series Magnetic Levitation Fans
In this quickie 2 page test we look at the new ML series fans from Corsair, with the ML short for Magnetic levitation. By assigning these fans an RPM below 1250 they remain silent, yet offer really proper airflow. Join us in a quick look at the fans.

8db is pretty much unobtainable.
This is from Hilbert's video card reviews
Jet takeoff (200 feet) 120 dBA
Construction Site 110 dBA Intolerable
Shout (5 feet) 100 dBA
Heavy truck (50 feet) 90 dBA Very noisy
Urban street 80 dBA
Automobile interior 70 dBA Noisy
Normal conversation (3 feet) 60 dBA
Office, classroom 50 dBA Moderate
Living room 40 dBA
Bedroom at night 30 dBA Quiet
Broadcast studio 20 dBA
Rustling leaves 10 dBA Barely audible
Not necessarily, the Noctua NF-S12B REDUX 700, Scythe Slip Stream 500, Coolink SWiF2-120 and Noctua NF-S12A ULN all run under 10db at between 500-800 RPM.

You can't alter physics. Air has mass therefore it makes noise when moved. 8db is pretty much unobtainable.

Would have made them even more expensive, perhaps later on they'll add more SKUs.
They are really good, I just received a batch. Up~to 45~50% RPM (roughly 1300 RPM) they are silent and after that you can hear them. But at a totally silent level, say 1000~1100 RPM the airflow these things create is pretty amazing.
Maxed out they are loud. When you crank them all the way up I swear you can cool a room as I can feel a breeze from one 120mm fan like one and a half meters away.
I wonder why they don't use rgb led for fans I would love to have green or orange or which ever color I feel like using.

Well that should mean they're pretty effective at least.
(And if they're so durable it could be quite a good investment, will be interesting to see how this technique will be received and if more manufacturers will use it.)
