Quarterly figures: AMD makes 99 percent more sales than a year ago

An impressive 99 percent increase in sales was achieved in a direct year-on-year comparison, said Lisa Su, AMD's CEO.

Operating income, in turn, was $ 831 million, a margin of 22 percent. Net income in Q2 in 2021 was around 710 million US dollars ( GAAP ) and 778 million US dollars (non-GAAP), around 260 and 352 percent higher than in the previous year. Lisa Su was correspondingly satisfied and continued to be optimistic about the company's key figures in the second quarter of 2021.

Our business performed exceptionally well in the second quarter as revenue and operating margin doubled and profitability more than tripled year-over-year.

We now expect our 2021 annual revenue to grow by approximately 60 percent year-over-year driven by strong execution and increased customer preference for our leadership products.

In addition to sales and profit, AMD was also able to increase the gross margin slightly from the previous year from 47 to 48 percent. Lisa Su also spoke about the “ significantly faster ” growth of AMD “ compared to the market ”.

We are growing significantly faster than the market with strong demand across all of our businesses.

Earnings per note rose year-on-year from $ 0.13 to $ 0.58 per share, but is significantly lower than in the previous quarter (EUR 1.45).
